At Cooinda you can nap peacefully, knowing you’re surrounded by five acres of tranquil bush. No dogs, no traffic, no pollution. Best of all there is abundant bird life for you to dream about or, should you choose, watch from the comfort of your sun-filled hammock.

I like to stretch and hate feeling cramped and confined so exactly how big will my room be?

My servants are well-trained to attend to my every whim. What level of attention can I expect?
Collectively, our Kitty Carers have been serving cats for over 90 human years (that’s about 300 cat years!). Pats and cuddles are standard fare. Your room will be serviced every day and you’ll have access to lots of attention daily! 92% of our new VIPS come from personal or Vet recommendations so we’re confident we can meet your exacting standards.

Will I be forced to share my room with someone I don’t know – and don’t care to know?
Absolutely not! You’ll only share if you are from a family of guests (your usual housemates) – and only if you acquiesce to such an arrangement. The Victorian Boarding Code of Practice stipulates that all VIPs from different households must be accommodated and exercised separately.

I might choose to venture outside. What facilities do you have available to me?
Every room is attached to a secure outdoor exercise yard. You’ll be able to climb, watch the birds, chase butterflies or luxuriate in the sunshine.

You’ll be served a selection of premium dry, fresh and tinned foods all hand-picked from only the best suppliers with your gastronomic pleasure in mind. We will be sure to find out from your slaves what your favourite foods are to ensure we provide you with the meals you are accustomed to expecting.

You’ll get lots of pats and cuddles and even the fantastically relaxing zoom groom brushing daily. Our professional grooming services are limited so if you need a professional groom you may want to have one before coming on your holiday. Manicures and pedicure are complimentary on request!

Cautious Cat Owner Questions:
My cat is on a special diet. Do they have to eat your food or can I supply their special food?
Many of our guests have dietary requirements and strict feeding regimes. Please bring any special food and instructions with you or send it in the Kitty Kab. There is no discount if you bring your own food. However, we also don’t charge extra for this service.

My cat needs medication. Can you administer it?
Yes. Your VIP’s medication is an essential part of their health and well-being. While there is a small charge for us to administer and monitor medications, our Kitty Carers are very experienced in ensuring even the most reluctant cats receive their medication as prescribed.

I’d love to send my cat to Cooinda, but I just can’t spare the time to drive them there.
No problem at all. Our Kitty Kab service can pick up and/or deliver your feline friend. Just ask when you make your booking or for more information check out Kitty Kab on the Purrrrfect Services page.

Does my cat need to be vaccinated to stay at Cooinda?
Most definitely! Every cat needs a current vaccination certificate and must be up-to-date with F3, F4 or F5 vaccinations before they can stay. If your cat is due for their vaccination or a booster, please schedule these two weeks before Puss’s arrival at Cooinda.

What time can I drop off/pick up my cat?
You can drop off and pick up your VIP during our office hours:
9am - 5pm: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
9am – 12noon: Saturdays
1pm – 4pm: Sundays
CLOSED: Wednesday
Pick-ups and drop-offs outside of operating hours are by arrangement only and a surcharge does apply.

What happens if my cat gets sick while at Cooinda?
As part of the sign-in process, you’ll give us the details for your Puss’s regular vet and your emergency contact details. If your VIP falls ill, we’ll contact you or your emergency contact, your vet and our own vet who is on-call 24 hours, 7 days. Rest assured, if you’re out of range, we’ll do what’s needed to ensure your puss’s good health. You are able to leave specific instructions on arrival should you wish too.

Yes. Puss can stay with us until you’re settled, then we’ll arrange transport to their new home.

How far in advance do I have to book?
For Christmas / New Year, you need to book by August to secure a room.
For Easter book at least 4 weeks in advance for a standard room and earlier for luxury suites.
At these times there is a $50 non-refundable deposit per guest and a minimum stay of
10 days – Christmas / New Year

You can pay with cash, Visa, MasterCard or EFTPOS. For stays over 10 weeks, payment is monthly in advance. Please contact us if you require more information on long term accommodation.

How much does it cost to stay at Cooinda Cat Resort and is there a discount for long stays?

Can we come and have a look before we book?
Yes! We definitely encourage you to inspect any potential accommodations for your VIP.
Inspections are offered only in off-peak periods.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday between 10am and 4pm – no appointment necessary
Sundays between 1pm – 4pm – appointment necessary
Allow approximately 25 minutes for your tour as we show you the whole facility.
We do ask where possible you make an appointment on Sundays to ensure we have a staff member available to show you around and answer all your questions.
Tours are not available during our peak periods to ensure all our guests have a relaxed stay.
