Her wonderful owners, took her straight down to Frankston Animal Emergency, who managed to reattach her tail and clean her up. There was a chance that this reattachment may not work and she would have to have it removed. However Sophie beat the odds and was amazing during the whole process.
Sophie came to Cooinda Cat Resort a couple of days later for some R&R during this distressing time. The kitty carers had to bathe her wounds every day and gave her plenty of love (Which she always receives both at home and with Cooinda). Sophie had to have a few vet checkups to make sure her tail was healing and she was a very good patient.
Thanks to the wonderful vets at Frankston Animal Emergency and Karingal Vet Hospital, Sophie still has her tail and it healed beautifully.
This incident didn't change Sophie's personality which is wonderful.
What is an abscess you say? It is a collection of pus and inflammatory fluids that develop at an internal site for the purpose of counteracting a foreign substance.
