Her eye was all clouded over and had green discharge and over the top of her pupil was red. She was taken to The Animal Eye Care Specialist in Malvern and there was a chance that she might have to have her eye removed and stitched up.
However, the wonderful vets at The Animal Eye Care Specialist wanted to try and save the eye so Little Girl went onto a number of different eye medications. She was very light sensitive, so she had to be kept out of direct sunlight. It was a slow process, however over the past 12 months, Little Girl had regular check ups every month and had medications changed accordingly to help save her eye.
Little Girl has come to stay at Cooinda Cat Resort a few times over the past 12 months, so we have experienced her improvements as time went on and we would love to Thank Dr. Chloe Hardman and the other Vets and Vet Nurses at The Animal Eye Care for their assistance when we had concerns.
There was a stage where Little Girl was having medications every 30-60minutes throughout the day from 7am til 9pm. During this time, the Kitty Carers and Little Girl had a ritual for some of the medications she didn't quite like having. We would apply the medication, then give her a treat, she would then kiss us on the nose or forehead, we would give her another treat and then kiss her back. This made the medication process a lot more desirable her to make the experience more pleasant.
Little Girl has gained back her sight in that eye, she is on minimal medications and the Vets & Vet Nurses at The Animal Eye Care have done a wonderful job. Little Girl was very patient during this whole process and she was absolutely wonderful in behaving while her medications were given to her.
